Our Story

Zach Yungst and Alex Lorton met their freshman year as undergrads and after college they began jobs where catered lunch was a regular — albeit unimaginative — benefit. While the gesture was appreciated, they knew the typical catered office meal of repetitive sandwiches and salads could easily be improved by so many of the exciting local options nearby.

Inspired by San Francisco's growing food scene, they decided it was time to rethink the office lunch by introducing authentic, local options to nearby offices, and turning meal time into an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with colleagues.

Since 2010, Cater2.me has helped thousands of teams transform their culture through a variety of delicious offerings and shared experiences. At the same time, we’ve helped thousands of restaurants, chefs, and food trucks reach new audiences, expand their menus, and grow their businesses.

At Cater2.me, our mission is to build community through shared experiences. But we’re not only focused on the bonds we build at the companies we serve: we’re also committed to strengthening the local food service business communities in each of our markets across the country.

At Cater2.me, our mission is to build community through shared experiences. But we’re not only focused on the bonds we build at the companies we serve: we’re also committed to strengthening the local food service business communities in each of our markets across the country.

Local Presence

We have dedicated staff for each of our eleven markets because it’s important we understand the local communities in which we operate. From the small business food vendors we work with to the companies we serve, our commitment to community is our priority.

Local Food

We’re helping more than 1,000 local food vendors across the country find new customers and expand their menus based on the feedback we collect. More than 90% of our vendor partners employ fewer than 10 people, and you won’t find any big chain restaurants among our vendors (though you might learn about some who were able to expand to multiple locations with our help).

Local Support

We pride ourselves on the ability to portion accurately for any size team or event, but there’s always a chance of leftover food. In order to reduce waste and help our local communities, we connect our clients with relief organizations that accept food donations. We also partner with local organizations to respond to needs in our communities.
