We’re proud to feature Eventbrite as one of our Hungry Startups of the Month. We wanted to see what is fueling the company who just sold its 100 millionth ticket!
What is Eventbrite?
Eventbrite is an online ticketing platform where tens of thousands of individuals, businesses, and organizations of all sizes manage, promote and sell out their events. Eventbrite makes it easy to sell tickets to all kinds of events — whether it’s a photography class or concert, an inspiring conference, or an air-guitar competition. With Eventbrite, organizers can create a customizable event page, spread the word with social media, collect money, and gain visibility into attendees and sales.
If Eventbrite was a dish, what would it be and why?
We would probably be a sushi roll – a whole lot of awesome, yummy stuff all wrapped up in one!
If we were to crack open your staff fridge right now, what would we find inside?
If you cracked open the Eventbrite staff fridge at this moment, you probably wouldn’t find much… maybe a few leftovers. Cater2.me takes such good care of us, our staff rarely have a need to bring in their own food.
Aside from your staff’s preferred foods, what is fueling your office?
Our Britelings are fueled by a couple of things: fresh coffee, a whole lot of creativity, spontaneous applause to celebrate accomplishments, and of course our kegerators.
Why did Eventbrite decide to provide meals for its employees? How has it shaped your company culture for the better?
At Eventbrite, we’re all about enabling live experiences; creating those experiences within our own doors is part of our culture. Food is an experience, and we wanted it to be a delightful one for our Britelings. Bringing in family style meals gives our folks a little time each day to get away from whatever projects they are working on to spend a little time with each other.
Would your team rather… do a synchronized swim routine in a pool filled with chocolate pudding or play capture the flag with a freshly marinated pork roast?
Great questions! Our team would much rather play capture the flag with a pork roast — there is most certainly a healthy dose of competition around here!
