July 16th, 2012, was the day that Cater2.me launched in the Big Apple. After feeding nearly 1 million meals to top companies in the Bay Area, we were excited to bring our service to hungry East Coast employees.
Launching an office is similar to trying out a new recipe. There are basic instructions on how you should prep, which ingredients to incorporate, and when to do what. But, as any good cook knows, a dish’s end result very rarely resembles the glossy magazine reference.
That is not necessarily a bad thing. It means that you’ve taken someone else’s formula for a delicious outcome and made it your own. The best recipes are the ones in which you know exactly what needs to be tweaked: tried and true favorites that just get better with each revisit.
We remain actively dedicated to making the Cater2.me experience better and more innovative with every passing week. For now though, we want to take a moment to relish in those first attempts by looking back on the dog-eared pages of our NYC history. So, in honor of Cater2.me New York’s birthday, we bring you a curated collection of our office’s ‘firsts.’
