It’s been a long day at work, the clock reads 7:27 PM, and you’re getting those evening hunger pangs.
Burger and fries?
Maybe a quick slice of pizza at that place on the way…
This morning’s gym session would be a waste.
It’s a conversation many of us have with ourselves as we head out the door from work. We try to avoid extra calories from mid-week happy hours but sometimes fall prey to the convenience of a takeout meal.
Andrea Talley, founder of GreenLid, faced this dilemma all too often until she thought of a solution. In 2013, Andrea began looking up healthy juices online and started creating her own recipes. Shortly thereafter, her newly-adopted healthy lifestyle spread among friends and family.
Andrea started out delivering her juices in mason jars. Recognizing an opportunity, she started promoting her juices at local farmers markets until eventually opening her own storefront in San Francisco. Remembering the initial struggle that had inspired her juices, she created a fast, friendly and convenient experience that strives to build a custom smoothie or salad option in three minutes or less.
Andrea is a hit in San Francisco! She hopes to bring her juices and salads to the masses. Her juices are an option for health-conscious San Francisco moms-on-the-go, foodie hipsters, tired 9-to-5ers, and even the late night tech crowd. Andrea plans to expand to the East Bay and the Peninsula, with five new stores over the next several years.
Cater2.me’s San Francisco office had the pleasure of meeting Andrea in February when we sampled her nutritious and delicious menu. We are very excited to work with her on tasty and healthy options for our clients.
GreenLid’s 12 oz. smoothies come in four different flavors and change seasonally. One of Andrea’s first concoctions and her personal favorite is Apple Ginger. It’s a refreshing smoothie blend of organic spinach, organic kale, organic apple, pear, avocado, ginger, cold pressed apple juice, and water – and it’s one of her most popular menu items.
If you’re looking for inspiration for a healthier lifestyle, Andrea recommends not cutting out the occasional burger or slice of pizza. She says simply adding dark greens to your diet will train your body to crave them over greasy foods.
