TBD's Alberto Attia

How long have you worked for

9 months.

How did you learn about

I visited the website from a job board.

How has changed since you joined the team?

We’re closer to our goal of optimizing our internal tools and working on really exciting new stuff for our clients.

What is your role at

Senior UX Designer

Tell us your craziest story.

Not so much a crazy story, but once, I was talking to one of our more demanding customers, and close to the end of the conversation he said, “people love you guys…” That really motivated me, because it allowed me to see we relate to even our tougher customers at an emotional level, and the outcome is positive. It’s happened to me a few times with other customers too. They appreciate the variety of the meals we provide them with.

Why UX design?

I want to help build a future platforms where interfaces disappear entirely and only conversation remains.

What was your favorite tasting?

Seismic BBQ. You can taste the dedication because their food is outstanding.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve overcome at

I think it has to be understanding and designing for the intricacies of the internal tools we use to serve our customers; a combination of logistics, CRM, and performance monitoring. We’re excited about reaching a milestone that will allow us to create even better features for all of our users.

What’s your favorite cuisine?

What do you do outside of work?

I like traveling, cooking, and reading. Sometimes I teach User Experience at a local university.

What is the office culture like in SF?

I really like my workmates in SF. They’re young, cool, smart, and driven. That’s a lethal combination. I also appreciate that even though they’re very busy, they always find time to help us with our tech/design questions.

If you could work in another office which one would you choose?

New York, but just for a while, because West Coast, Best Coast! Also, I’d love to work at “ Brazil,” if it ever happens.

Describe in three words.

Variety. Diversity. Drive. Again, a lethal combination!
