Lately, going out on my lunch break has been the biggest pain. Almost every day in Buckhead, restaurants have lines out the door. On top of that, the weather is absolutely insane. We have thunderstorms one minute and sweltering, sunny skies the next. I never know if I need sunglasses or an umbrella!
Having lunch catered to the office is the perfect solution to beat the heat, the rain, and the lines. Catering brings the best local chefs and restaurants directly to your office. Here are some of my favorites to get catered:
Healthy Lunch
In the summer, I try to eat as healthy as possible, especially for lunch. One go-to for that is Wildleaf Salads. You can get a range of different salads and grain bowls delivered, or you can even make your own salad or bowl at your office. Wildleaf uses ingredients that are local and sustainably-raised, has no artificial sweeteners, and makes all twenty of their dressings in-house.
My Favorite: I love the Catalan Salad. With its Tuscan kale, Medjool dates, Marcona almonds, manchego cheese, and membrillo vinaigrette, it is the perfect balance of savory and sweet.
Deli Lunch
Jack’s New York Deli is the kind of place you would see on any New York street corner, but with a “twist of Southern charm.” Jack’s fare combines the flavors of the North with the comfort of the South, whether that’s in a breakfast sandwich or a gourmet salad. Their classic deli sandwiches are also a flexible office option.
My Favorites: I really enjoy the Ryan’s Wise Guy Sandwich. With ham, capicola, pepperoni, black olives, banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic dressing, it’s a timeless deli classic. I also eat vegetarian a lot, and their Tomato and Spinach Panini with roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and pesto is one of my favorites. Don’t forget to end with a white chocolate macadamia cookie!
Chinese Lunch
I love good Chinese food. Grand China has that and so much more! They serve a variety of Chinese, Japanese (including sushi), and Thai food. The owner, Mrs. Chang, takes personal pride in all of the food that they make. Everything is made from scratch daily, with no MSG and all GMO-free ingredients.
My Favorites: I usually order a little bit of everything: steamed dumplings, chicken pad thai, and one of their creative sushi rolls, the Poseidon roll. That’s a roll with black pepper tuna on the inside and spicy salmon, spicy mayo, and eel sauce on the outside.
Pizza Lunch
There are a lot of “New York-style” pizza places, but few live up to the name. Piu Bello is an exception to that rule. I moved to Georgia from New York almost 10 years ago, and this pizza is one of the closest to authentic that I have found. Piu Bello uses a traditional brick oven and house-made dough to make their pizza, which comes out with a crispy bottom and doughy crust.
But Piu Bello is so much more than just pizza! They also make salads, sandwiches, pasta, chicken, and veal, to name a few.
My Favorite: My pizzeria favorite is always chicken marsala; theirs lives up to my high expectations.
