TBD

Today is National Human Resource Professional Day! In honor of all HR professionals, including many of the HR professionals we work with at each client, we want to share some of our favorite HR resources. These eight resources offer a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical insights, and communities of like-minded professionals. Let’s dive in!

1.”Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us” by Daniel H. Pink

In this eye-opening book, Pink examines the science of motivation and reveals the mismatch between what businesses do and what science knows. The book offers valuable insights into employee engagement, offering HR professionals strategies to tap into intrinsic motivation and elevate productivity.

2. Slack Channel: PeopleGeeks

Slack has emerged as more than just a communication tool; it’s a hub for communities and knowledge-sharing. By employee experience platform Culture Amp, PeopleGeeks is one of those valuable channels where HR professionals from around the world come together to discuss best practices, share resources, and support each other.

3. Slack Channel: Resources for Humans

Another gem on Slack, Resources for Humans is a community of HR leaders and professionals discussing the latest in HR practices, leadership, and building great teams. It’s run by people management platform Lattice and is a space where you can ask questions, share your insights, and learn from the best in the industry.

4. “HR from the Outside In: Six Competencies for the Future of Human Resources” by Dave Ulrich

Dave Ulrich, a prominent thought leader in HR, offers a roadmap for HR professionals to add value in their roles. The book delves into the competencies required for future HR leaders and provides actionable insights to drive results.

5. SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management)

The SHRM website is a reservoir of resources, tools, and news articles catered to HR professionals. It offers a platform for networking, certification, and even hosts annual conferences that bring together HR leaders from around the globe.

6. “Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High” by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler

Every HR professional knows the importance of communication, especially in high-stakes situations. This book offers tools and techniques to navigate these conversations effectively, ensuring outcomes are favorable for all parties involved.

7. HR.com

An all-in-one platform for HR professionals, HR.com offers articles, webcasts, research reports, and tools related to various HR functions. They also host an Annual HR conference

The Human Resources field is constantly evolving. As companies become more diverse, the need for effective HR practices has never been greater. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned pro, it’s essential to stay updated with the latest insights, tools, and practices.
